Biography about the Hungarian ‘king of blues’, Little G Weevil
A biographical novel will be written about the adventurous life of the Hungarian ‘king of blues’, Little G Weevil whose musical talent was awarded by several prizes in the USA.
The singer-guitarist became world-famous after having won the International Blues Challenge in 2013. One year later, he was nominated in USA Blues Music Award Acoustic Artist of the Year category. In Little G’s mind, the idea of a biographical novel was already born in 2015; however, since then he was searching for a writer who has a special connection to music, especially blues.
Originally, a friend from Atlanta focused his attention on Szilárd Demeter, who in the meantime, became the Director of Petőfi Literary Museum. The writer who used to be a musician playing in amateur formations promised to find the ideal author. Two weeks later, he decided to undertake the task.
Little G confessed that the idea was born based on a terrible period of three months when he lost everything he had been working for in the previous 20 years.
After getting divorced, he moved to a new house in the suburbs of Atlanta where he needed to call the police several times because his tenant was a drug dealer. This was the first point when the idea of a biography came to his mind.
Concerning his relationship with Szilárd, the blues singer described the author as an honest, sensitive and straightforward person. Therefore, he was very grateful when the writer came up with idea of writing the lifestory by himself. His suggestion was accepted immediately.
According to the Hungarian news portal Origo, the biographical novel will be started in June and is planned to be finished by Book Week 2020. Furthermore, a screenplay is also projected for the future.
